I’ll let you in on my little secret…looking at wallpaper ideas for small bathrooms might be my new favorite hobby.
Anyone else?
No?
There is something about wallpapering a small room that feels extra charming. It is bold and beautiful, and I’m convinced the perfect solution to add a special touch to your powder room.
Lately, I’ve been browsing hundreds and hundreds of wallpapers, looking specifically for our half bathroom. This site alone has over one million options (holy moly). They suck me right in! The fun prints, shapes, textures, color combinations, and the sheer volume of options give me googly eyes! I could look at them for hours. In case you do not want to spend hours browsing, I have rounded up some of my favorite pictures and sources for beautifully designed wallpaper.
This post will share inspiration for small bathroom wallpaper ideas, and my top favorite options for our half bath.

A half bath or powder room is the PERFECT place to try out a fun wallpaper print. They are typically small rooms without a shower or bath, so you do not have to worry about excess moisture affecting your wallpaper. You do not spend a lot of time in the room, therefore a bold or busy print won’t feel like “too much”. Finally, as these rooms are typically a bit tucked away, they can be a beautiful hidden gem in your home.
As we work through updating our home, I knew our half bath off the kitchen would be an ideal room to install wallpaper. Consequently, I have a feeling that I’m going to want wallpaper in many more places after this room is finished!
The kids’ bathroom was one of our first projects. Now I want to add wallpaper! 🙂
While browsing ideas for our half bath, I found so many gorgeous wallpapered bathrooms. I love seeing what combinations people have come up with. Different paint colors, molding, trim work, hardware, and flooring options. The combinations are endless! Have fun browsing, and see what type of wallpaper feels like “you”!
Pretty Paper, Pretty Rooms
Botanical wallpaper is a common find, but there are SO MANY different colors, shapes, and patterns to choose from. This versatile print can lean traditional, modern, eclectic, boho, and everything in between. I think we often crave the beauty of nature inside our homes. While live plants will always be my favorite way to bring nature into the home, botanical wallpaper is another fantastic option.

Bold patterned wallpaper is the perfect choice for a small half bath. Typically, this is the smallest room in our homes, but that doesn’t mean it should be boring! Think of it as a great opportunity to push your style comfort zone a bit. Go bold or go home, right?

Are you convinced yet? Aren’t they fun? The hardest part is choosing ONE! From neutral textured options to colorful geometric prints, you can install wallpaper in your small bathroom that particularly matches YOUR STYLE!
I love the idea of choosing a quirky or surprising wallpaper for a half bath. One that really makes your guests think “wow”! Life is short, so why not put chicken portraits on your walls?!?

Time to narrow down my small bathroom wallpaper ideas!
When browsing, scrolling, searching and browsing some more, it is important to pay attention to any general themes you are drawn to. Which patterns or colors stand out to you? Maybe they all are geometric shapes. Or you might find yourself liking patterns with a lot of repetition. Additionally, it is helpful to order samples whenever possible, as this will allow you to see the true colors and textures in person.
I found myself drawn to wallpaper with dark backgrounds, and often with some kind of botanical print. After ordering samples of some of my favorites, I was able to narrow down my selections to just a few. Okay, maybe 12-15 if I’m being honest! There are just so many beautiful options, it is difficult to choose.

Most Important Tip: Buy a sample of the wallpaper you want to use. Until you feel and see the sample in the actual room you intend to work on, it is very difficult to make a confident decision. Some of the samples I ordered were very thin and/or pixelated. Others were thick, textured, and printed beautifully. I could not tell any of this from the pictures online. Yes, it costs money to buy samples, but I would definitely say it is worth it!
Stay tuned for progress and final room updates, provided I can make a decision on the wallpaper! (wish me luck)
