First edition!
I have to be honest…I had SO much fun putting this together. I love sharing ideas with others, and being able to do so in this way was very satisfying. Creating the visual design was really fun for me, and I am excited to continue to learn about best practices in design/layout.
I enjoy reading and hearing about other people’s favorite things. A great recommendation or review is worth a lot, especially without having to do a deep dive on the inter-webs! I decided this would be a fun way to showcase some of the things I have been enjoying or interested in during the month. I will only include things I personally own, have experienced, or watched, unless otherwise stated. These are a true roundup of my life in the past month. I hope you find something to do, watch, eat, drink or add to your home that sparks JOY. In this first edition of Red’s Roundup, you will find a variety of my current favorite things. Enjoy!

- Cotton Rope Plant Basket – This is a great basket for any of your plants, and any decor style. What I like best is that the edge of the basket folds down! This is great because it makes it more versatile for different sized pots. I currently have this pot in my bathroom with a 6″ ZZ plant pot. The neutral colors make it a great choice for any room.
- Fixer Upper: Welcome Home – to say I was excited to hear Fixer Upper was coming back is an understatement! I watched the first episode of Fixer Upper : Welcome Home on Discovery+ and it did not disappoint. It was classic Chip + Jo, but with a few updates to make it even better. I am excited for their new Magnolia Network to launch! It looks like a lot of great shows.
- Threshold Green Floral Print Pillow – Green is my favorite. I have to intentionally not buy green everything, or my home would look like some sort of weird camo-grinch-jolly green giant type of place. I especially think of green around Christmas (more of a dark green) and around spring (lighter or grass green). This pillow is adorable with the flower pattern and tassels on the corners. The perfect accent for the upcoming season.
- Threshold White Textured Tassel Pillow – Cute white throw pillow with fun tassel accents. When purchasing pillows (and other decor), I try to think if they will work in my home for at least half the year. This white textured pillow definitely met the criteria. It is a basic color, but has some pizzaz with the tassels.
- Jesus Calling Devotional – I read from this daily devotional every morning. It is written in a way that seems like it was directed towards me every day, even though millions of others feel the same way. When in doubt, this is always a good one.
- Threshold with Studio McGee Beige Stoneware Vase – This is a perfect vase to use year round! The neutral colors and wide mouth make it extremely versatile. I will use this as a centerpiece with floral or finds from foraging. When not used as a centerpiece, this will look beautiful on my shelf or in my hutch. The Studio McGee line at Target has many beautiful neutral pieces that can be used year-round.
- UGG Women’s Ansley Moccasin Slippers – I received these slippers (in black) for Christmas and I have worn them every day since. After one month I can say they are extremely comfortable and live up to their positive reviews. I sized up a half size and they fit perfectly. It looks like they are low on sizes at the moment, so maybe put them on your wish list for next Christmas!
- Tartelette Juicy Amazonian Clay Eye Shadow Palette – Gorgeous eye shadow palette. The colors are neutral enough to wear every day, but includes a wide variety to give you options. There is not one single color in the palette I would not wear, and as a redhead that is saying something. These go on super smooth. Be sure to check for a discount code from the website.
- Skinny Pop Popcorn – This has been my favorite store bought popcorn for years. I like the original, in the largest bag possible (usually from Costco). It has the perfect amount of salt and oil, not overpowering, but just right. If you like to eat a tiny amount of popcorn (unlike me), you can also buy this in individual serving bags.
- Harney & Sons Hot Cinnamon Spice Tea – This is one of my favorite teas of all time. I tend to drink a lot of hot tea in the winter and this one does not disappoint. It has a bold cinnamon flavor, and comes in a beautiful tin. I also like the vanilla and mint flavors. I have purchased on Amazon and from Target. You could repurpose these tins with succulents for a unique display!
- YouTube: Nick Lewis Design – This was a channel that randomly popped up for me, but I have really enjoyed watching Nick talk about design. He is knowledgeable, gets straight to the point, and has great pictures as examples of his recommendations. Check him out if you are into Interior Design.
- Tenzi Game – This game is a family favorite! We have been playing a lot of games over the past few months, and we always love this one. My older two children (8 and 5) can easily play, and my 2-year-old can be entertained with stacking/knocking down her own set of die. 🙂 Win-win.
- Magnolia Glass Plant Mister – My family gave me this cute plant mister for my birthday! I love it. Anything that is both cute and functional is a win in my book. It is very easy to use, and looks nice enough to leave out all the time. This also helps me remember to mist my plants more often!
- Flower Bulb Forcing Indoors – In January I love watching flowers grow and bloom indoors, when it is cold and snowy outside. I have enjoyed my paperwhites, daffodils, and hyacinth bulbs growing and blooming in my home this month. I bought all of my bulbs at Trader Joe’s, but I found this link to purchase online, if you are looking for something similar.
- Welcome Home: A Cozy Minimalist Guide to Decorating and Hosting All Year Round by Myquillyn Smith- Oh boy…this has been a true game changer for me. If you are looking for direction on decorating minimally, but still having a stylish home, this book is for you. Myquillyn’s photos of her home are simple, but beautiful. I found myself taking pictures of the pictures, to save as inspiration! This book would also be a great hostess gift or coffee table book. This was not intentionally a “save the best for last”, but this is a really good one!
I hope you enjoyed my first Red’s Roundup! Tag me on social media if you try any of these things!
